Cafeen Daily Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026

Cafeen Daily (cafeendaily.com) is a coffee search website run from Sydney, Australia. We don't ask for your name, email or any account to use the site, and we keep as little information as we can.

This policy explains what information the site collects when you use it, why, and who helps us run it. It applies to every language version of the site.

Information we collect

What you search for. The words you type into the search box, and the time you searched. We don't link searches to your name.

Your city choice. The city you pick on the homepage is saved in your own browser, so the site remembers it next time. It isn't sent to us as a record.

Your browser's language. Used to show the site and its results in your language.

Technical information. Like most websites, our servers automatically record basic details of each visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested.

Please don't type personal details (such as your name, address or phone number) into the search box. Popular searches may appear on the homepage under "Today's top searches".

How we use it

We use this information to find and show your search results; to save results, so the same search loads instantly for the next visitor; to show today's popular searches on the homepage; to show the site in your language and remember your city; and to keep the site running, secure and free of misuse.

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Services that help us run the site

A few trusted services handle parts of the site for us. Some are based outside Australia, mainly in the United States.

Wix hosts the website. It receives technical information about your visit, and uses cookies (see below).

PythonAnywhere runs our search server. It receives your search words and technical information about the request.

Anthropic (Claude) finds and writes the search results. It receives your search words, not who you are.

Google (Google Maps) provides café photos and details. It receives café names from the results. Your browser loads the photos from Google, so Google sees technical information about your visit.

Café photos may also load directly from the café's own website, which then receives the same basic technical information.

Cookies and browser storage

Wix uses cookies that the site needs to work, such as keeping it secure and remembering your language. Wix may also collect basic visitor statistics for us, such as page views.

The site saves your chosen city in your browser's storage. You can clear cookies and stored data at any time in your browser settings; the site will still work, but it will forget your city.

How long we keep information

Saved search results are kept for 1 week to 2 months, then refreshed or replaced.

The search log (search words and times) is kept for up to 12 months, then deleted.

Server records of visits are kept for a short time by our hosting services, under their own policies.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Because we don't collect names or accounts, we usually can't tell which searches are yours, but we'll help where we can.

If you're in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to object to how we use your information and to complain to your local data protection authority. In Australia, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Other websites, children and changes

Other websites. Search results link to cafés, shops and articles we don't control. Their own privacy policies apply once you visit them.

Children. The site isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes. We may update this policy as the site grows. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
